It was a brisk start to a beautiful day as participants in the Kitchissippi Run set out on the course in Chalk River. Spirits were high and competition was friendly with several distances including full marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km, a family 2km, and a bike race new this year. 

This marked the 6th annual Kitchissippi Run, a fundraising event for the Deep River and District Hospital. Last year participants raised $15,000 for improvements in the health care facility. The race is run by dedicated volunteers who donate their time and efforts for a worthy cause that draws athletes in to compete in the town and around the beautiful Petawawa Research Forest. 

This year, the event was open to vendors and we attended with kombucha for pre and post-race energy and hydration. We had fun cheering on the athletes, dancing to music, chatting with friends and locals, and of course serving up kombucha on tap. Congratulations to all participants and a big thank you to volunteers and sponsors who made this years Kitchissippi Run a success. 

Water, milk, kombucha... just one of the regular beverages stocked on the shelves of your local corner store. Our kombucha is now available on the Trans Canada Highway thanks to Raby's Ultramar in Chalk River. Three flavours to choose from as of today; Mango Lassi, Wild Blueberry, and Beau-Tea-Ful Morning. Good news for our CNL customer base as you can conveniently swing in and pick up a bottle heading to or from work. ;) 

Lunch made easy! Every Thursday Maven Catering offers a healthy lunch option delivered right to your door or place of work. Meals are always tasty, made from scratch, and filled with healthy, fresh food. Have any restrictions? Maven Catering's got your back! Meals are either yummy salads, or a wrap or sandwich with a salad and can be easily be made gluten-free with a rice paper wrap as shown above. We are so excited to team up and pair our kombucha with the lunch of the week. Cheers to the launch of our GREAT EIGHT 500 ml bottles! We've done it! Labels are on and we are gearing up to have our kombucha available in 8 locations in the Ottawa Valley including retailers in Pembroke, Petawawa, Chalk River and another in Deep River. Fully compliant with an ingredient list, nutrition panel and bar code, these are the real deal and what we've been working towards over the past year. We narrowed it down to 8 top flavours for the 500 ml size and will be continuing to offer our 1L on tap refill program with seasonal and trial flavours to mix things up. The 500 ml size is perfect for a serving or two and to grab and take on the go. We hope you enjoy our new look! 

We will be joining many crafty vendors at the Chalk River Lions Hall this Sunday, Nov. 20 from 10:00 until 3:00 for the annual craft fair. Shop local and get a start on your Christmas gifts with lots of handmade options to choose from.
