NEW Seasonal Flavour!
We've made a batch of Mulled Cranberry Citrus for the holidays! We began this festive booch by mulling pure cranberry juice with sliced orange, mandarine, fresh Ontario cranberries, cinnamon bark, clove, and dried orange peel. Once cooled, we added more cranberry juice AND freshly juiced clementine and orange. The perfect Christmas blend. Jazz it up by pouring over ice, cranberries and an orange slice. Also makes a great sangria addition or a delicious cocktail mix. Find it on tap at Blendz Smoothie Shop & Healthy Eatery in Pembroke and The Olive Tree in Deep River. Hurry in! Limited supply!

We took a road trip this weekend to deliver kombucha, meet the friendly folks at Thornloe Cheese, and fill our bin full of delicious goods. Located in the New Liskeard area on Highway 11 North, Thornloe Cheese has a long history of making tasty products. For over 70 years, the factory has brought Northern Ontario and Quebec the best in high-quality artisan cheese using sustainable local milk from farms in the area. The business has seen a few change of hands over the years but is now proudly 100% farmer-owned and 100% Canadian. With a wide range of products ranging from traditional mild cheddar, to fresh flavourful curds, and specialty cheeses, Thornloe Cheese has some mighty fine award-winning products to enjoy. A cheese-lovers heaven, Thornloe Cheese is known from far and wide (side note, we were 4 hours away from home but while we were there, a Deep River local walked in to stock up on his favourite curds - small world!) for their exceptional cheeses, and have been making even bigger headlines as the first Canadian company to offer a new line of grass-fed butter and cheeses. With Matt always on the lookout for local grass-fed butter, this is actually how we connected! Through social media, we expressed how we enjoyed each others products and just had to get together! We just love how these things happen organically; local businesses supporting other local businesses. Aside from kombucha, Thornloe Cheese also has a variety of other local products in store, adding to the authenticity and true sense of community of the business. Thornloe Cheese continues to grow and expand but never looses sight of the original pride and vision of using high-quality ingredients and the same old-fashioned techniques from their early days to bring us the finest (most delicious) Canadian cheese. Visit www.thornloecheese.ca to learn more! Blendz Smoothie Shop and Healthy Eatery has a new home!
Now located on Pembroke Street, Blendz has been busy moving into their newly renovated space in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. Exposed brick and high ceilings gave this space a massive facelift and we can't help but admire the new look at the latest restaurant in Pembroke. *Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, October 20th from 11am until 5pm* Whoever said vegan food was lacking in taste never tried anything at Blendz. This vegan eatery takes you all the way to Flavour Town (ya.. that's right.. Guy Fieri needs to eat here!) with a great selection of dairy-free, gluten-free, taste-FULL options including their signature smoothies, soup of the day, and fan-faves like rice wraps, and banana bread waffles. Although we'll miss having Blendz as our neighbour in the plaza, we wish Dale and her team all the best in her new location (you can't keep us away, we've been there twice already!). We look forward to what's on the menu next and will see you on delivery day! Yesssssss, of course Blendz carries our booch! Congrats!! A chilly start to the day didn't deter locals in attending the the 3rd annual Renfrew Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival on Saturday. The beer was flowing, food trucks were sizzling, and by noon the square was a buzz with folks looking to taste the latest in regional craft brews.
This year saw the biggest turnout with around 2000 attendees, not bad for a small town festival set to showcase the finest in locally produced beverages while creating a fun atmosphere for all ages. With live music throughout the day, free glowsticks passed around for the dance in the square at night, the festival drew in new crowds for the extended hours with an evening band, The Paperboys. Full list of businesses there to quench your thirst and fill your belly included Perth Brewery, Orléans Brewing Co., Cartwright Springs Brewery, Laurentian Brew Kombucha, Whitewater Brewing Company, Square Timber Brewing Company, Beau's All Natural Brewing Co., Bancroft Brewing Co., Broadhead Brewing Company Ltd., Brasserie Tuque de Broue Brewery Inc., Needham's Market Garden, Kin Vineyards, Hot Shots Coffee Canada, Big D's Dog House & Poutine Emporium, Bonita's Cantina, Backyard Gourmet BBQ and Mr.Churritos. Thanks to a wonderful team committed to bringing a celebration of locally crafted food and drink to the Valley, the Town of Renfrew hosted another successful event of beer sipping, kombucha tasting, food-filled, festival fun. Looking forward to next year! Find us in Renfrew this Saturday, October 13th for the 3rd annual Frewtober Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival. We'll be there from 11:00am until 8:30pm serving up fresh kombucha on tap for your healthy, non-alcoholic alternative beverage needs. We'll have four flavours on tap plus bottled booch for sale, and samples are always available to all who want to taste, quench their thirst, cleanse their palette, and sip on a different type of ferment. Check out the lineup of local craft beer and food trucks! New this year - even more live entertainment and a "dance in the square" with an evening roof-top concert. Meet you in the square! We have so much to be thankful for. Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend, wherever you may be. Cheers from our family to yours! We are grateful that you are on this journey with us. We are thankful for YOU! Now everyone can get their hands on some local kombucha any time of day (attention night owls, early risers, and shift workers!). Becker's in Petawawa has our brew in stock and is open 24 hours!
Formerly Pronto, the Becker's convenience store is the centre of a busy hub in the heart of Petawawa. With a wide selection of snacks, beverages, staple foods, a pizza joint, laundromat, hair salon, and the area's Greyhound bus stop, our brew is in good company. Pick up a bottle to sip on while getting your hair done at Drea's Barber Shop, wash down a Greco's pizza with a Wild Blueberry kombucha, grab a booch for the long bus ride, or sit and drink a healthy beverage while waiting for your laundry to finish. It just got easier to find the time to try this kombucha drink you've been hearing your friends talk about. ;) Thanks for bringing us in your store, Becker's! Taste of the Valley seasonal events are in full swing!
We had a great time attending the last Deep River Farmers' Market of the year. The final bi-weekly market joined forces with the County of Renfrew's Taste of the Valley to bring locally produced goods to the Deep River area. There was no shortage of freshly harvested produce, homemade treats, and handmade products at this years event which took place yesterday in the Deep River Town Hall parking lot. As always, we enjoyed catching up with old pals, market vendors and meeting new visitors. Our bellies and fridges are full of freshly baked loaves, desserts, wood-fired pizza, local meats, BBQ'd snacks (did you try the pulled chicken made with our kombucha bbq sauce!?), yummy jams, and a new batch of sauerkraut is already fermenting from chopped fresh cabbage. The Deep River market is one of our favourite events to attend as it is wonderfully heart-warming to see the support pour in for our local businesses. Thank you to all who came out this year and to the volunteers who never cease to amaze us with their selfless dedication. Laurentian Brew Kombucha is now in LONDON, ON! Our friends in Southern Ontario will be thrilled to learn that Farm Boy has added another great location for our booch. Check out what flavours are in store at Farm Boy Wellington. We made a special batch Kombucha BBQ Sauce for our friend, J-dogs! This is a unique collaboration using local ingredients including farm-fresh Ontario tomatoes, heirloom garlic from Forest Cove Farm, Engine House Coffee's Locomotion coffee beans, Emes Family Maple Syrup, and our raw kombucha. J-dogs will be featuring Laurentian Brew Kombucha BBQ Sauce on his signature dish at Taste of the Valley Deep River this Saturday, September 29th! Our new seasonal flavour, Crabapple Ginger is now on tap at The Olive Tree in Deep River!
We freshly juiced both local crabapples and organic raw ginger to bring you this delightfully refreshing kombucha combo. Who knew juicing crabapples was so delicious!? Rumour has it there's an end of Summer cold going around. Raw crabapple juice contains a high dose of Vitamin C and raw ginger is anti-inflammatory and contains loads of antioxidants. Kick that cold to the curb while making your belly (and taste buds) happy. Guess who's back, back again.. Hugli's back, tell a friend.
Yesssssss! We've made another batch of Hugli's Blueberry Ranch Kombucha! Robust blueberry flavour, made by infusing the whole blueberries from your favourite local berry farm. A deliciously noticeable difference from our regular blueberry variety. Taste it for yourself at The Olive Tree in Deep River! Hey Ottawa Valley! Thanks for coming out to the Valley Inspired Vendor Show.
A great turnout for the event held on Sunday, September 9th at the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre and what an awesome lineup of vendors! The show featured a long list of local talent, artists, crafters, bakers, soap-makers, and professional services including: 2 Tarts and A Truffle, Anna’s Lingerie and Swimwear, Bee Savvy Hives and Honey, Blendz Smoothie Shop, CREEations, Carte Blanche Cache, Chahna Fai, Crazy Beautiful Dresses, Dame with a Hook, Das Studio, Engine House Coffee, Fifth Ave Collection Jewellery, Flourish, Gore Line Knit Co, Jacklyn’s Organic Tan, Janalla Photography, Julie Keon - Life Cycle Celebrant, Laurentian Brew Kombucha, Life Pure Simple, Little Things Canning Company, Mellow Home Co., Natural Beauty, Opeongo Soaps, Ottawa Valley Promotions, Pembroke Boxing Club, Pembroke Pole Fitness, Pure Romance, Sugar Society, SweetLegs, Tarwyn Lane Designs, The Alexander Bros. Woodworking, The Ottawa Wedding Planner, The Urban Lounge, Thirty-one Gifts, Valley Soaperie, and Whitewater Brewing Co. The show also featured swag bags, lots of prizes, and live entertainment provided by Matt Gagne and Ben Rutz. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. the room was a buzz with Valley folk who came to scope out the many talented businesses the area has to offer. It was great to see several businesses collaborating, sharing tables, and representing other great organizations at their booths. On tap for the day, we sampled two of our favourite locally sourced brews, Engine House Coffee Kombucha and Hugli's Blueberry Kombucha. We enjoyed connecting with all the vendors and chatting with everyone who stopped by our booth. Thanks to Taylor of Ottawa Valley Promotions for organizing such a wonderful event! Check out Ottawa Valley Promotions upcoming events and subscriptions boxes at www.ottawavalleypromotions.ca. A new business is born and Cobden will have yoga classes!
Ottawa Valley Yoga celebrated its Grand Opening this week! Partnering with the Inner Strength Fitness Centre on Main Street, Megan Chase is excited to bring her love of yoga to the area. The centre will host Hatha yoga and meditation classes and offer special events and group rates. There will be a pop-up shop in the studio featuring locally made products, including a fridge full of kombucha! Looking forward to the growth of this new biz. If you're in the area, keep your eyes out for the class schedule or head to www.meganchase.org/ottawavalleyyoga for the latest news. We're excited to announce that select Farm Boy locations in Ottawa now carry our kombucha!
You can find five flavours in the Train Yards and Westboro Farm Boy stores. Hibiscus Ginger, Wild Blueberry, Beau-Tea-Ful Morning, Meta-Boost, and Strawberry Mint were selected to debut our partnership in this Canadian grocery chain. In its 36th year, Farm Boy proudly serves the province of Ontario with over 27 locations, bringing fresh, local food to thousands of health-conscious consumers across 11 major cities. With a vision of using the best foods to create a better shopping experience, Farm Boy stores dazzle customers with a bright, open-concept layout, farm-fresh local produce, made-from-scratch food from the Farm Boy kitchen, a salad bar and hot meal bar for take out. Several locations also house a sushi bar, artisan pizza, stir-fry station, and a selection of beer and wine. We're very happy to be able to access more of our Ottawa customers and bring our traditional, small-batch brew to a larger area. We are grateful for the opportunity and are fuelled by the passion to ensure a high-quality, live-cultured, true kombucha is available to our family, friends, and friends of friends. Thank you to all who made this happen! We truly appreciate your support! You can find Laurentian Brew Kombucha in Toronto!
That’s right! We’ve teamed up with an amazing business, Stronghouse Health to have our brew available in the big city. Sooooooo stoked about this! In two locations in downtown Toronto, Stronghouse is a nutrient-dense riot, providing fuel for pre and post-workouts, snacks on the run, and help to get you through that mid-day slump. Taking her culinary background and passion for fitness into a new business avenue, Owner Beth Davis founded Stronghouse Health, a bar-style set-up for healthy snacks, smoothies and fitness supplements within an established fitness facility. With a focus on Canadian-made products and ingredients, the Stronghouse menu includes shakes, cold-pressed juice, fresh smoothies, protein balls, waffles, bars, tea, coffee, plus grab-and-go snacks and drinks from the fridge. For the fitness and muscle-building enthusiast, Stronghouse is your one-stop-shop for supplements to take your goals to the next level. Currently in CRUNCH Fitness at 382 Yonge Street, and CrossFit YKV at 175 Avenue Road, Stronghouse welcomes you to stop in and have a bite or a sip. We couldn’t resist the Meet Your Matcha smoothie and took some delicious protein balls for the drive home; these are tried-and-true tasty and Laurentian Brew approved! We live for these small business collaborations. Beth tried our brew while visiting another retail location and loved it so much, she contacted us to bring it in to her business. What a great organic connection to form a wonderful relationship with our FIRST TORONTO LOCATION! We can’t thank her enough for the opportunity. What a day! Muskoka Veg Fest was a huge success!
River Mill Park in Huntsville, Ontario was a buzz on Saturday, August 11th, celebrating conscious living, wellness, and sustainability at the plant-based festival. The first of its kind in the area, Muskoka Veg Fest was host to over 65 vendors, special speakers, and musical entertainment and welcomed a safe environment for vegan and health-conscious festival attendees. A morning shower didn't seem to dampen the day as hundreds made their way through the grounds, visiting each booth, trying new products, and learning about living a healthy, vegan lifestyle. Samples were plentiful and there was many a cloth bag full of tasty goods purchased to be enjoyed at home. Warm sun graced the skies by afternoon and by closing time quite a few businesses had sold out of their products. A wonderful outcome for the event made successful by a great group of organizers, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, educators, and attendees. Thanks to the Muskoka Veg Fest team! Until next year! "Muskoka Veg Fest is a plant-based, dairy-free, meatless festival that showcases great food, entertainment and cruelty-free products from conscious minded individuals and businesses. Bringing a collaborative celebration of animal welfare, health, and environmental education to showcase the benefits of a vegan lifestyle". We joined a super fun group of vendors at the Crystal Palace in Picton, ON on Saturday, August 4th for the 2nd Annual Ontario Fermentation Festival. Founded by Pyramid Ferments, the festival was created to showcase the fermented food and beverage community in the area. "We aim to celebrate, inspire and educate our provincial community about the many types of food and beverage ferments available in Ontario".
A foodie, locavore, and fermented food enthusiast's heaven, the festival featured everything from beer, wine, mead, hot sauce, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, pickles, olives, mustards, sourdough, cheese, juices, chocolate, kefir, jun and kombucha plus a ferment competition, workshops demos and yoga. We had an awesome time meeting everyone and appreciated the familiar faces who came for a visit! Thanks you to all who stopped by our booth and tried our products. Festival go-ers were passionate about the healthy and fermented food movement and all samples were delicious. Trading product for product was an exceptional highlight for us as we went home with a big case full of goodies (some of which didn't quite make it home as we snacked along the drive). Tasty, nutritious, locally made food is where it's at! We want to congratulate the Pyramid Ferments team on a well-organized, entertaining and enjoyable event. We had a great time at the festival and enjoyed getting to know you more at Prince Eddy's Brewing Co. afterwards. Thanks for inviting us along! See you next time! The International free kombucha festival, BOOCHFEST took place at Landsdowne Park in Ottawa inside the Horticulture Building this past weekend.
We were floored by the absolute success of this festival! Founders and organizers, Drew and Samira took their love of kombucha and poured it into this event. They had a dream to bring an international kombucha festival to the area and boy did they make it happen! The anticipation was high and we weren't sure what to expect but as the day progressed, it was clear that the event had surpassed expectations. After a brief opening ceremony with a word from the Boochfest Founders and ribbon cutting including Rise Kombucha, the crowds piled in and were given a sample cup to try all sorts of flavours of kombucha. We were in good company along with brewers Culture Kombucha, Y Kombucha, Quetzal Kombucha, Brew Dr. Kombucha, GT'S Kombucha, Elikxir Kombucha, Cathy's Kombucha, Live Kombucha, Carlington Booch, Rise Kombucha, Bucha Brew, Vox Kombucha, Artizen Kombucha, Lao Kombucha, Pyramid Ferments, and from all the way overseas, Kombucha Iceland!! "They just kept coming in", fellow brewers said as we re-capped the event. There was barely a moment for us to try other brews as most of us were a two-person crew, working non-stop from 10-4 to serve up samples, offering kombucha on tap and selling our bottles. "It was crazy!" our heads are still spinning from the action. With music going, an excited crowd with bellies full of kombucha were mostly in the know about the fermented tea. This isn't the norm for us as we are used to explaining the process and answering numerous questions about the brew. "Everyone already knew what kombucha was! We never get that". It was an event to meet the makers and sip on new flavours. Attendees made the rounds and then decided on their faves or picked up an assortment to bring home. There was also a competition for homebrewers which was judged by a panel of commercial kombucha connoisseurs. We met so many people, made wonderful new connections, learned about upcoming brewers, saw familiar faces and had visits from friends. As a brewer, it was phenomenal. Well organized, nice facility, highlighted the industry, and had cold storage and ice on site. We can't thank Drew and Samira enough! BOOCHFEST 2018 was a riot!! Can't wait for next year! The 2nd annual Lemonade Yoga Festival was a success!!
So awesome to have this festival right in the Valley! Lemonade featured a variety of FREE outdoor yoga classes (doesn't get better than that!) for all ages from 11-6, SUP demonstrations and water fun, plus great local vendors. We always love meeting up with local business owners, passionate yogis and kombucha newbies and fans. Lemonade did not disappoint. A big thanks to Maegan, the White Pine Yoga team and instructors, AWE Yoga, and all volunteers and organizers! And thanks to all who stopped by our booth. You guys are the reason we love festivals! Check it out!!
We're launching our BOOCH BOMBS tomorrow just in time for the weekend and the height of festival season. These babies pack a crazy, puckering punch! Full of potent herbs, fresh raw juice, in a base of raw kombucha, Booch Bombs are a powerful herbal drink. Take a shot at a time or down the whole 5 oz bottle to give your gut a boost. We've developed two completely different, extremely tasty varieties! Bug-Buster Ever hear of the dreaded Summer cold or flu?? It's been going around and let me tell you, the Bug-Buster will give it the blast it needs. With anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-viral ingredients including a whack of freshly juiced raw carrot and ginger, loads of turmeric, calendula flowers, cayenne pepper, and black pepper (needed to help absorb the active ingredient in turmeric curcumin), Bug-Buster is full of nutrients to help your immune system get back on track. Living Green We can all use a little more green in our life! How about a mega-dose of spirulina and chlorella green algae, holy basil, lemon balm and pineapple juice!? These green algae superfoods are known detoxifiers, helping to rid the body of toxins, alkalize the system and boost energy. Paired with the adaptogen holy basil which has been identified to reduce stress and anxiety, along with similar benefits from lemon balm, and a refreshing finish of fresh pineapple juice, the Living Green is bold in colour, taste and benefits. We'll have our Booch Bombs in tow this weekend at Lemonade Yoga Festival and BOOCHFEST!! Hope to see you there! Joanne's Valu-Mart has welcomed us in to their store!
You'll find our full selection of kombucha in the fridge at Joanne's Valu-Mart in Shawville, Québec. Situated on Main Street in the heart of the town, Joanne's Valu-Mart serves as the main grocery store for Shawville and the surrounding areas. The store offers a wide selection of produce, ready-made meals, dairy and non-perishables including specialty items, a large frozen foods section, a bakery, a meat and deli department, some garden centre options. as well as an assortment of alcoholic beverages. Finding available refrigerated space in a grocery store is not always easy, so we appreciate that Joanne and her team have put up valuable real estate for The Great Eight kombucha variety. We learned that Joanne's Valu-Mart has just celebrated their fourth anniversary. Congratulations! We wish you great success in the years to come. Another great spot in Québec to add to the map! |
